FWIO - An Organization for Personal Growth and Community Action

The Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario (FWIO) is dedicated to responding to the diverse and unique needs of urban and rural Ontario women, their families and their communities.

Currently, FWIO is looking to expand its:

  •  membership
  •  dynamic education programs
  •  promotion and services of the Erland Lee Museum
  •  administrative services, to better serve women in Ontario

Can you help?

Your contribution will help:

  •  educate women, providing them with the knowledge to positively impact their lives and their families
  •  build healthy and informed communities
  •  enable growth and build a sustainable future

If you would like to help, consider one of the following donation options:

ROSE Program Donation

ROSE (rural ontario sharing education) is what Women's Institutes have been doing for over 110 years - providing education to help build stronger families and vibrant communities. This unique province-wide initiative is driven by WI Members who work with provincial partners and local organizations to increase awareness, educate people, provide support and promote community action.

How your donation would help:

  •  provide training and resources for educational events or programs that are important to the public
  •  assist with the promotion of ROSE Sessions in the community
  •  provide grants to Branches who are hosting ROSE Sessions

Membership Recruitment Donation

As with any member-based organization, membership retention and development is vital. If you would like to help sustain Women's Institute for another 100 years, consider making a donation to assist with this project.

How your donation would help:

  •  provide a provincial training program that includes:
    •  a retention & recruitment program
    •  Branch training
    •  community evaluation
    •  a marketing strategy

Erland Lee (Museum) Home Donation

The Erland Lee (Museum) Home is recognized internationally as the birthplace of the Women's Institutes. In 1972, FWIO purchased the Lee home, preserving the vintage home as an important historical memorial to the Institutes beginnings, and to a vanished middle-class rural Victorian lifestyle. It opened as the Erland Lee (Museum) Home the same year, with the exterior and the 1873 additions lovingly restored to their 1897 beauty. The Erland Lee (Museum) Home is a National Historic Site of Canada.

How your donation would help:

  •  The Erland Lee (Museum) Home has different funds that you may wish to contribute to:
    •  Property Improvement Fund
    •  Operations Fund
    •  General Fund

Home & Country ROSE Garden Donation

The Home & Country ROSE Garden is FWIO's Provincial Newsletter. It is published three times a year and is received by WI Members, ROSE Program Partners, political dignitaries, and other associates of FWIO.

How your donation would help:

  •  increase the number of pages in each issue
  •  increase the number of issues per year
  •  enhance the paper quality of the newsletter
  •  enable the newsletter to be accessible electronically

FWIO Website Donation

The FWIO website is a resource for WI Members and the public.

How your donation would help:

  •  with additional maintenance and enhancements
  •  added materials in the Member Services section

Provincial Conference Donation

The Provincial Conference is held every two years and is open to the public. Contributors may receive their name in the program booklet and be given their own table at the conference.

How your donation would help:

  •  to cover general costs for the conference
  •  with the cost of advertising to promote the conference
