WI Members Donate Books, Blankets & Bears

Across Ontario, WI Members were invited to take part in a special project to celebrate the 119th Anniversary of Women’s Institute. Copies of the book, “Quincy and His Quilt: A Northern Adventure”, written by WI Members Loreen Ambler and Debbie Thompson Wilson, were dispersed across the province, with Members encouraged to make or purchase teddy bears and blankets.

For several months, Members kept busy preparing their items, many of which were knitted or quilted by hand, with WI Day – February 19th – suggested as the donation day.  Members visited their local police departments, fire stations, hospitals, shelters and other organizations that care for children to donate these items in the hopes that they will bring comfort to little ones who are experiencing a crisis or challenging time.
