Come out to a FREE event at the Erland Lee Museum, birthplace of the Women’s Institutes, in celebration of Women’s History Month and the release of the new book published by the FWIO, Ordinary to Extraordinary: 150 stories as unique as the women who lived them. Women’s Institute Members, including authors featured in the book, will talk about their stories and experiences. Followed by refreshments. Everyone is welcome! The Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Canadian Woman of the Year Award is the premier national award of Women’s Institute, celebrating the achievements of Canada’s most inspirational and influential woman. This award recognizes a woman for demonstrating excellence - from leadership to social change, from local to global reach, across multiple sectors.

This prestigious award is presented by the Federated Women’s Institutes of Canada (FWIC) to a man who most exemplifies those qualities of Erland Lee which led to the founding of the Women’s Institute, an organization which spread across Canada and grew to include millions of women worldwide.

All nominations are to be submitted at the provincial level. In Ontario, nominations and a cheque for $15.00 (per nomination) must be received at the FWIO Provincial Office by January 31st. Cheques payable to FWIO.
