The main focus of the Calabogie WI is friendship, charitable giving and education for our members and the community, through information-sharing, demonstrations and yearly cultural outings.
The Calabogie WI is involved in funding for local causes such as the Food Bank and other worthy causes at local hospitals and in the community. We are also involved in maintaining community history and supporting local fairs.
Our ladies are also well-known for their wonderful baking and cooking! We host the annual Remembrance Day luncheon for the community and have a tea room at the annual Calabogie Art Fest each Fall.
Children are also a concern of the branch. In 2011, the branch purchased baby change tables for installation at the Calabogie Community Center and Barnet Cottage Park. In addition, the branch provides funding to the local library for a program that provides books and information to new mothers in the community. This program is named after Nancy Gorra, a long-time member that passed away in 2009.
