On Sunday, June 6, 2010, Dwight Women’s Institute (Northern Area) celebrated their 100th Anniversary. The Members wore period dresses and hosted a community tea. Neighbouring WI Branches attended as well as “friends of WI” from the Dwight area. Sandwiches, fruit platters, tea, coffee, punch and a “patchwork quilt cake” were served to guests.
Councillor Ross and Mayor Peake of Lake of Bays Township presented the Branch with a flowering crab tree. The 100th anniversary pins were presented by Janice Bray and Florence Kirkham.
The weather was beautiful, the company was delightful and a good time was had by all.
