On October 11, 2011, a beautiful autumn afternoon, the Members of Windermere WI (Northern Area) gathered in the Community Centre for a Tea Party to celebrate 100 memorable years – exactly 100 years to the day their Branch was founded. Other WI Branches joined them, along with members from the community. Branch President, Darlene Poirier, welcomed FWIO President, Carol Innes, who pinned a 100th Anniversary pin on each Member and presented a certificate congratulating Windermere WI on their 100th Anniversary.

Among invited guests were Deputy Mayor, Township of Muskoka Lakes, Allen Edwards, and Councillors Gault McTaggart and Don Furniss. Allen presented two certificates, one from the Township and one from The District of Muskoka, congratulating the Branch on their accomplishment.
