Letters from Edgemont…September 2021
Sep 30, 2021
Fall is in the air here at the Lee and how beautiful it is. The leaves are just starting to change colour and the Erland Lee Museum Committee (ELMC) has worked hard to decorate the grounds with festive fall flare.
Sadly, our interns have come to the end of their placements. Sharifa Riley & Katie Best were amazing additions to our team this summer and were able to create two Carriage House exhibits, complete 2 collection inventory projects, give tours, and assist with the general running of the museum. These young ladies are busy with their studies now but we hope they will be able to visit us often and remain a part of the museum team as their schooling schedules allow. We will certainly miss having them around the museum but wish them all the best as they move on in their museum careers.
After over a year, we are finally able to welcome participants back for in-person workshops held in the 1873 Carriage House. We are so delighted to have so many smiling (masked) faces back on site. Our October workshop, Sashio Embroidery, is already filled up. But our Plarning and Felt Ornament workshops for November and December still have some space. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot and for more information!
We will also be holding live events again! Join us on Saturday, October 2nd for a Community Yard Sale here on the museum grounds. We will have the Stoney Creek Garden Club with us selling plants, Pampered Chef & Scentsy, handmade jewelry, and so much more. This is a free event for anyone to attend and vendors are still welcome to join in and reserve a table for just $20. Call or email us to book your table today!
That’s all from the homestead for now. But keep an eye on our Facebook & Instagram for weekly updates on the museum and sneak peaks into the collection.
